What type of Clothing should I bring?
Please ask your agent for more details as it depends on your destination. As a region, Atlantic Canada has an ideal climate, not too hot and not too cold. July August temperatures tend to be in the 80’s while June and September tend to be cooler. It is always safer to travel with warmer clothes, wind/rain jacket, sweater or fleece and comfortable walking shoes.
What are the driving times/distances?
Within our itineraries, we try not to exceed 3 to 3.5 hours of driving daily. Due to limited accommodations in some areas, times may vary.
What are the activity vouchers?
Maxxim Vacations has identified a number of the most popular attractions and activities within the region, these vouchers can be used as access into any of the attractions outlined. Reservations are recommended and you can make those directly with the supplier upon receipt of your package documents.
Are any meals included?
Breakfast is included at many of the B & B’s used by Maxxim Vacations. This will be noted on the vouchers you receive.
Can I customize my package?
Absolutely! Maxxim Vacations reservations team is highly skilled and they have indepth product knowledge about the region. Please ask your counselor to assist you with a custom quote.
Which hotels and B & B’s do you use?
We use a wide selection of properties, therefore making an actual list to provide to our customers challenging. All accommodations offer a minimum three star rating through Canada Select which ensures a private bathroom. Please let your travel counselor know if you have a particular preference in the type of accommodations reserved.

Can I select my own properties?
Absolutely. If there are specific properties that you would like to use, we would be happy to customize a vacation just for you!
Can I make changes to my package?
Yes, we can easily facilitate changes to your travel package for a small administrative fee. Speak to your counselor for more details.
Can I purchase airfare only?
Maxxim Vacations is a travel wholesaler and we provide multi-component packages to include airfare, car rental and accommodations. As a licensed travel agent, we can provide any of these individual services on a fee for service basis.
Can I get a breakdown of my package costs?
Maxxim Vacations does not offer pricing breakdowns on individual package components.
How can I get a refund on the tax?
US citizens pay only the applicable taxes on their packaged travel so no refunds are necessary.
When is final payment due?
Upon confirmation of your package, you will be sent an invoice outlining your payment and the balance owing, the final payment is due 45 days prior to departure and will be processed automatically on your credit card.
What rate of exchange do you use?
Maxxim Vacations uses the exchange rate applicable at time of printing, we take no responsibility for pricing fluctuations based on changing currency values.
Can I use Aeroplan miles for my vacation?
Maxxim Vacations does not accept Aeroplan miles as payment for vacations. You may book your own air through Aeroplan and purchase a land only package from Maxxim Vacations.
Can I collect air miles on my package?
Aeroplan points are offered to clients taking an air-inclusive package that originate in the US.
Is a passport required to travel in Canada?
If you are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States you don’t need a passport or visa; however it is advisable to carry evidence of citizenship, i.e. birth certificate, certificate of citizenship. Please note it is imperative that you have photo identification. Providing only a drivers license or social security card is not considered valid proof of citizenship.
You must have a valid passport if you are visiting Canada from another country other than the U.S. Visitors coming from certain countries will be required to present a visitor visa that must be obtained at a visa office outside Canada. For additional information visit the official government site.
